ADVANTAGES OF LEASING

A new copier or MFP can provide your organization with many benefits. Newer models offer lower operating costs, greater productivity, and advanced features like online booklet making or beautiful color output. Purchasing a copier outright may make sense for your organization but it may be a better decision to lease your office equipment. We have listed some of the reasons leasing may make sense for your firm.

1.   Leasing is easy and covers 100% of the equipment cost:

In most cases, there is no down payment and you can start enjoying the benefits of your new equipment with the least amount of out of pocket expenditure.  You keep your lines of credit and working capital free to invest in those items that will get you a better rate of return and help build your business. A general rule of thumb is you want to purchase assets that will appreciate and lease those items that depreciate.

2 .  Technology Refresh:

Leasing allows you to consistently upgrade your technology in a planned and systematic approach. You benefit from the newer technology with both features and service reliability. Your office is more productive with less downtime while you enjoy the benefits like lower operating cost and system features that let you get more work done in less time.

4. True Lease End Options:

With the FMV lease, you get the lowest monthly payments up front and can make your decision to purchase until the end of the lease. If the unit is still in great shape and does the job, take advantage of purchase option. If your current unit is worn out and the new technology has some exciting new benefits, take the return option and move into a new upgrade.  It is your choice.

3.  Tax Advantages:

Leasing a copier/mfp can reduce your tax payments because lease payments are treated as a pre-tax business expense. All of the lease payments are deductible. When you purchase a copier/mfp, only the depreciation of the equipment is deductible.

4.  Repair:

Repairing a copier/mfp can be very expensive. Typically, all repair costs are covered as part of the lease. This eliminates the risk of potentially having a big repair bill when you own.

5.  Decision:

Deciding to lease versus buy usually depends upon your particular situation. If you lease, you will probably pay more for use of a copier in the long run than if you buy. But the other advantages may offset that cost. Ultimately you need to do the math and see which works out best for you.
